Lab results · updated October 2, 2026

Our third-party lab results, posted in full.

We send a sample of the finished blend to an independent lab and post the lab's certificate of analysis (CoA) here exactly as issued, with a plain-English summary beside it. So far that is one lot, 2604170, tested by Alkemist Labs for heavy metals and 68 pesticides in September 2026, after launch. Beta-glucans and mycotoxins are next, and each lot we test is added here as its reports come in.

Short answer

Shroombiosis lot 2604170 was tested by Alkemist Labs, an independent California lab accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 for the methods on its scope. By our check, heavy metals were well under USP <2232> supplement limits, at most 12% of any limit per scoop. All 68 pesticides on a modified USP <561> panel were below their limits.

How it works

  1. We send the lab a sample from a production lot and pay for the test.
  2. The lab runs the analysis and issues a certificate of analysis (CoA) for that sample.
  3. We post the original PDF in full, without amendments or omissions, with written permission from Alkemist Labs.

Heavy metals

Well under USP <2232> limits (our check)

  • Test 42822
  • USP <561> 4-element panel
  • ICP-MS, method ATM-815-0307
  • Accredited method (A2LA 3851.01)
  • Analyzed
  • Reported

By our check, every metal came in well under the U.S. Pharmacopeia's heavy-metal limits for dietary supplements (USP <2232>): one scoop is at most 12% of any metal's daily limit, and two scoops stay under 25%.

Metal Lab resultµg/g Our comparison: USP <2232>
Per scoopµg (8.3 g) Daily limitµg/day Share of limitper scoop
Arsenic (total) As 0.036 0.30 15 (limit for inorganic arsenic) ≈ 2%
Cadmium Cd 0.071 0.59 5 ≈ 12%
Mercury Hg < 0.010 < 0.083 15 < 1%
Lead Pb 0.049 0.41 5 ≈ 8%
  • "<" means below the lab's reporting limit.
  • † This is total arsenic. The limit covers only inorganic arsenic, which is part of the total, so the real share can only be lower.

Pesticides

68 of 68 below USP <561> limits

  • Test 42828
  • USP <561> modified panel
  • LC-MS/MS and GC-MS/MS, method ATM-815-0308
  • Accredited method (A2LA 3851.01)
  • Analyzed
  • Reported

The lab screened the sample for 68 pesticide compounds, including organophosphate and organochlorine insecticides such as DDT and lindane, pyrethroids, and several herbicides and fungicides. Every one was reported below its USP <561> limit and marked Pass.

The report prints each result as below ("<") the USP <561> limit itself. That means under the limit, not that none was present.

Reading the paperwork

How to read a certificate of analysis

Open either PDF above and check these, top to bottom.

  1. Match the lot. The Lot# and Sample ID tie the report to one sample from one production lot.
  2. Check who issued it. Every page names the lab, its address, who ran the analysis and who authorized the report.
  3. Read the units. µg/g and mg/kg both mean parts per million, so a reading of 0.010 µg/g is 10 parts per billion.
  4. Treat "<" as a floor, not a zero. "< 0.010" means below the lowest amount the method reports, not none.
  5. Look at Specification and Result. A specification is the limit a result is judged against. Our heavy-metals report prints N/A in both because we didn't supply one; the pesticide report judges each compound against USP <561> and prints Pass.
  6. Read the notes. A report's Notes lines can say what a panel leaves out.

Questions

Lab results FAQ

Is Shroombiosis third-party tested?

Lot 2604170 is. A sample of that lot was tested by Alkemist Labs, an independent lab in Garden Grove, California that is accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 by A2LA for the methods on its scope. The testing covered four heavy metals and 68 pesticides, reported in September and October 2026. That is one lot, tested after launch; each lot we test is added to this page as its reports come in.

Where can I see the full lab reports?

On this page, at shroombiosis.com/lab-results/. Each result links to the lab's original certificate of analysis as a PDF, posted complete and unaltered with Alkemist Labs' written permission. The summaries and the per-scoop arithmetic beside each report are ours; the PDF is the lab's record.

Does Shroombiosis contain heavy metals?

Yes, in trace amounts, which is normal for foods and supplements made from plants and mushrooms. Arsenic, cadmium, mercury and lead occur naturally in the earth's crust, and pollution adds more, so they're in soil, water and air. The FDA notes that the amount in certain foods depends on how much is in the environment and how much the plant or animal takes up from it. Mushrooms and plant ingredients like cocoa typically carry some, and supplement standards like USP <2232> set a daily limit for each metal rather than requiring zero. Lot 2604170 is well under those limits: one scoop has about 2% of the daily limit for arsenic, 12% for cadmium, under 1% for mercury and 8% for lead, and two scoops stay under 25% for each. USP <2232> is the U.S. Pharmacopeia's heavy-metal standard for supplements; the comparison is ours, made from the lab's results.

Was Shroombiosis tested for pesticides?

Yes. Lot 2604170 was tested for 68 pesticides on a modified USP <561> panel by LC-MS/MS and GC-MS/MS, and every compound was reported below its USP <561> limit.

Is Shroombiosis tested for microbes like Salmonella or E. coli?

Not on the finished blend. It contains a live probiotic, Bacillus subtilis DE111®, and live bacteria get in the way of standard microbial tests, so Alkemist Labs cancelled that panel for this product. For nine of its ingredients, the seven mushrooms, the cocoa and the cinnamon, we hold the suppliers' certificates of analysis, and each reports microbial results within its limits. Those are the suppliers' own tests, not independent testing, and their microbial results are available on request: email support@shroombiosis.com.
