Cookie Notice

Last updated October 11, 2026

This notice lists the cookies, pixels and browser storage used on shroombiosis.com, which is run by Shroombiosis LLC. The lists come from a test of the live site on October 1, 2026 (re-checked when we added a text signup step to our discount popup, again on October 5, 2026 when we added a discount signup form to our homepage, and on October 11, 2026 when our newsletter form started asking you to confirm by email), checked against our site's code. For how we handle personal information in general, see our Privacy Policy.

The short version

  • The site uses cookies and browser storage from Google Analytics, Meta and Klaviyo, plus one item of our own (sb_click_ref).
  • None of them is needed for the site to work. If you block them, the site still works.
  • The Meta Pixel, and the Meta cookies it sets, do not load on our pages about medications and drug interactions, pregnancy and women's or reproductive health, or heart and circulation. They do load on our other pages. See "Pages about health topics" below.
  • There is no cookie banner or cookie settings panel on this site. Apart from the pages just mentioned (and our /card/, /lab-results/, /offer-success/ and /newsletter-confirmed/ pages, which do not load Klaviyo), these tools load for every visitor, and the site does not currently respond to Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals. You control them through your browser and the provider tools listed below.
  • One part of our ad measurement runs on our server, not in your browser, so cookie settings do not affect it. See "Purchases: Meta Conversions API" below.

What these technologies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser and reads back on later visits. All the cookies below are set on our own domain (shroombiosis.com), but they are written and read by scripts from Google, Meta and Klaviyo, which send the values to those companies. If your browser allows third-party cookies and you are logged in to Facebook or Instagram, Meta may also receive its own facebook.com cookies with Pixel requests on pages where the Pixel loads; Meta's policy covers those.

Pixels and tags are pieces of code on a page that send information about your visit to a provider.

Local storage and session storage are storage areas in your browser. Local storage stays until you clear it. Session storage is cleared when you close the tab.

Cookies

Lifetimes are what we measured in the test, except _fbc, which the test did not trigger; its 90-day lifetime is Meta's standard setting. Most of these cookies are renewed each time you come back.

Cookie Provider What it does Lifetime
_ga Google Analytics 4 Gives your browser a random ID so Google Analytics can count visitors and visits. About 400 days
_ga_9TPL8BK9RR Google Analytics 4 Keeps track of your current and past sessions for our Google Analytics property (G-9TPL8BK9RR). About 400 days
_fbp Meta Pixel Gives your browser an ID that Meta uses to measure our ads and build advertising audiences. Not set or read on the health-topic pages listed below. 90 days
_fbc Meta Pixel Stores the ad-click ID (fbclid) when you arrive from a link in a Meta ad. Only set in that case, and not set or read on the health-topic pages listed below. 90 days
__kla_id Klaviyo Identifies your browser to Klaviyo so its forms know whether you have already signed up, and so Klaviyo can link your activity on our site to your Klaviyo profile once you sign up for our emails or texts or click a link in one of them. About 400 days

Local storage

All of these are set by Klaviyo and stay until you clear your browser's site data.

Name What it does
$referrer, $last_referrer Record the website that sent you to us, for Klaviyo's attribution and form targeting.
lastExternalReferrer, lastExternalReferrerTime Record the last outside website that sent you to us, and when.
klaviyoOnsite Stores Klaviyo's on-site state, such as which signup forms you have seen or closed.
kl-post-identification-sync Keeps your browser in step with your Klaviyo profile after you sign up.
__kl_key Stores our Klaviyo account's public ID so Klaviyo's script knows which account's signup forms to load. It holds nothing about you.

Session storage

These are cleared when you close the tab.

Name Provider What it does
klaviyoFormSubmit Klaviyo Records whether you submitted a Klaviyo form during this session.
klaviyoPagesVisitCountV2 Klaviyo Counts the pages you view in this session, which Klaviyo uses to decide when to show a signup form.
sb_click_ref Shroombiosis (ours) Only created when you arrive through a link carrying an ad-click ID (fbclid) or campaign tags (utm_ parameters). It holds those values for this tab session and adds them to the Buy links on each page, so Die Tryin Co.'s store can record which ad or campaign brought you. If you then buy, our server reads the ad-click ID from Die Tryin's order and uses it for the Meta Conversions API. This item runs on every page, including pages where the Meta Pixel does not load, and does not itself contact Meta.

What each category is for

  • Analytics: Google Analytics, to understand how the site is used. Our Google Analytics tag turns off Google signals and ad personalization.
  • Advertising and ad measurement: the Meta Pixel.
  • Email marketing and forms: Klaviyo.
  • Ad attribution: sb_click_ref.

None of these is strictly necessary to use the site.

Outside servers your browser contacts

Loading our pages makes your browser contact these servers. Each one receives your IP address and browser details, and most also receive the address of the page you are on.

  • Google Analytics: www.googletagmanager.com, www.google-analytics.com
  • Meta Pixel (not on the health-topic pages listed below): connect.facebook.net (loads the Pixel) and www.facebook.com (receives the Pixel's events, and the image the Pixel loads when JavaScript is off)
  • Klaviyo: static.klaviyo.com, static-tracking.klaviyo.com, static-forms.klaviyo.com, a.klaviyo.com, fast.a.klaviyo.com, and its content delivery network d3k81ch9hvuctc.cloudfront.net
  • Google Fonts (loaded by the Klaviyo signup form, not by our own pages): fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com
  • Contact form (only when you submit it): api.web3forms.com, which receives your name, email address and message

How Meta uses this

The Meta Pixel runs on most pages of this site, but not on the health-topic pages listed below. Where it runs, it sends Meta a PageView event on each page, a ViewContent event on our product page (/products/), a BuyClick event when you click a Buy button, and a Subscribe event when you submit one of our email signup forms (signing up for our texts sends Meta nothing). Our site switches off the Pixel's automatic settings, which would otherwise send Meta the text of buttons you click and information about the page, such as its title, description and structured data. Our Meta account has automatic advanced matching turned on, so it can also send a hashed copy of contact details you type into forms, such as your email address or name. It is set not to collect phone numbers.

Third parties, including Meta, use cookies, pixels and similar storage to collect information from our site and from elsewhere on the internet, and use it to provide measurement services and to target and deliver ads. We use Meta to measure our ads and to show our ads to people who have visited our site.

Meta, Google and Klaviyo can recognize your browser across other websites and over time.

Pages about health topics

Where the Meta Pixel does not load. The Meta Pixel is not loaded on our articles about medications and drug interactions (including GLP-1 medications), about pregnancy and women's or reproductive health (such as the menstrual cycle), or about heart and circulation, or on our Women's Health and Men's Health topic pages (/tags/womens-health/ and /tags/mens-health/). On those pages no Meta script runs, the _fbp and _fbc cookies are not set or read, and no Meta Pixel events are sent.

What still runs on those pages. Google Analytics runs there, so the address and title of each of these pages are sent to Google with its cookie identifiers. Klaviyo also runs there and can receive the address of the page with its __kla_id identifier. If you have signed up for our emails or texts, or clicked a link in one of them, Klaviyo can link the pages you view to your Klaviyo profile. sb_click_ref also still works.

Everywhere else. The Meta Pixel loads on all our other pages, including general wellness articles on topics such as gut health, probiotics, immunity, energy, focus and calm, some of which mention medications, pregnancy or other health conditions in passing. On those pages the address of every page you view is sent to Google and Meta with these identifiers. Google also receives the title of each page.

Purchases: Meta Conversions API

When you buy a Shroombiosis product on Die Tryin Co.'s store, Die Tryin's store sends the order to our server. We then send Meta your email address, phone number, name, city, state, ZIP code and country (each SHA-256 hashed), plus your IP address, browser user agent, the ad-click ID if there was one, the order number and time, and the Shroombiosis items with their quantity and value. This happens server to server, whether or not you visited our site first and whichever pages you visited, so blocking or deleting cookies does not stop it. Our Privacy Policy explains this in full.
